Neon Genesis Evangelion

Review:

Neon Genesis Evangelion, or NGE, is a famous anime that deserves its reputation. Shinji Ikiri is called by his estranged father to be a pilot of an Evangelion, a giant humanoid mech. Shinji has issues - with his father, with other people, with his past, and with the awesome task that has been placed on his shoulders - and through it all, he never stops whining about how bad things are for him, making him the epitome of angst. This, however, just serves to make him a more identifiable character and gives the entire show a sense of fictional schadenfreude - it will lift you up by reminding you that your life is not, and cannot become, this bad.
