Aura Battler Dunbine
Review:

Someone read the Evil Overlord List: "When I become an evil overlord, I will dress in bright and cheery colors, and thus throw my enemies into confusion."
Rag-tag cavalry.Hopelessly corny in its visual style and pacing, Aura Battler nonetheless has an interesting premise - three people, including Show Zawa, are taken from our world, "Upper Earth," and forced to fight in aura-powered mechs. Show is torn between his desire to do right and to return to his home in Japan. All of this would be well and good, and the visual style would even be fine, if not for the ridiculous clothing most of the characters have - the standard armor that we see throughout the show consists of pink armor over what appears to me to be light pink sweatpants and a pink turtleneck sweater. Even considering the era this anime was produced in, this is bizarre. Other oddities include a (metaphorical?) conflict between Show and an American likewise captured from Earth, Faeries with generally skimpy outfits, unicorns, unisheep, and a generally oddball love of anacronisms.
