A bit silly and childish, Spiral is nonetheless enjoyable at any age. Ayumu Narumi stars as an apathetic Encyclopedia Brown clone, brilliant but uncaring, who is framed for attempted murder as the series begins. After clearing his name, further adventures ensue. The question "What are the blade children?" is inserted into the dialog far too many times, and plot twists and turns and reversals are sometimes overdone to the point of absurdity. Still, Spiral is well worth your time. Be aware that for such a musically-oriented series, the opening is an acquired taste at best and just plain bad at worst.
