Voices of a Distant Star

Review:

Short film about two teen sweethearts that are separated by interstellar war. She's a mech pilot that sends back text messages, while he stayed behind on earth. Interesting premise could have used a bit more tuning on the technical side (why doesn't the fleet send messenger ships back to earth so that communications don't take years or decades to arrive? There are lots of plausible reasons, but there's never one given, even in passing), but is still top-notch. Especially amazing considering the shoestring budget that was used to make it.
