Nanoha: StrikerS is the third television series to follow the life and career of Nanoha, magical girl, and the change in setting has just a bit of a surreal feeling to it. Nonetheless, the idea of Nanoha growing up and advancing in the ranks of the quasi-militaristic Time Space Administration Bureau makes perfect sense. The series gets off to a bit of slow start, focusing on the relationships between the new and old characters and their preparations and training.
StrikerS has, by far, the best example of a crazy mad scientist in Jail Scarletti, who messes around with people’s lives and souls, plays various factions in the TSAB against one another, and creates unnatural abominations capable of taking on even the toughest mages. Why? Because he can.
StrikerS is a solid, well produced anime that tells an interesting story. Of course, the real point is seeing vastly overpowered magic users duke it out, and wondering how the TSAB will screw over the universe with some idiotic, bureaucratic decision next.
