Mahoro is back for more and all is finally revealed. While I’ve seen it panned by other reviewers, I have no difficulty saying that the ending to this series is by far one of the best in any anime series. There is no overbearing deus ex machina, no real reset of the universe, nor anything especially unbelievable about the final episode of Mahoro 2, yet the ending is surprising despite the way that it is subtly hinted at throughout. Introduced in this season is a shadowy underground government simply called “The Management” and an associated android called Minawa. Beyond the somewhat serious overall plot, the individual episodes are full of action and humor, and “dirty thoughts are bad” is still the thesis that the show scoffs at with plenty of those jokes being about the female body.
