Wow. Ghost in the Shell 2nd Gig. As if the first one weren’t enough hard-hitting anime philosophy. I was told before I watched it that that this series was going to be darker, less introspective, and more political than the first series, and it was. Still, I’d feel comfortable recommending this to any GITS fan.

Section 9 returns in this series, secretly resurrected to protect Japan. Except, of course, that what Japan apparently need protecting from the most in this story is itself. The enigmatic Gouda lurks in the shadows of the government, preparing some intricate and overly complex conspiracy. Terrorists lurk among refugees. Oh, and the plot is really confusing, but try to keep up. A great series overall.
