The future of earth is one covered in war, except for a small oasis where bioroids [sic] and humans live together. Bioroids are engineered to be tamer and keep the humans in check, while being kept in line themselves by an inability to reproduce (presumably on the cellular level, although this is never really explicitly stated). Not all is well, as some humans aren’t so happy about this. Appleseed is dramatically overhyped but not bad.
